St. Agnes Fifth Graders investigate rocks, mineral,and gemstones.
The Christmas Concert was a big success.
The First Graders enjoyed their visit with some Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches.
One of the Fourth Grade’s favorite service projects is to help with the Vermillion
Backpack Program.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 28
“Catholic Schools Week Kick-Off with the Bishop”
•Celebrate Mass with Bishop Swain and the Sioux Falls Catholic
Schools at the Elmen Center on Augustana College in Sioux
Falls at 10:00 a.m.
The Preschool Class and the Thrid Grade class have been learning about different
countries and cultures. In October, they learned about Germany and enjoyed a visit
by a parent who played the accordian.
•Kick-off our Coin Drive for the St. Agnes’ St. Vincent DePaul
Organization. Bring money to win a chance to throw a pie in
Mrs. Hamm’s or The Mystery Teacher’s face.
•Read in the gym with Buddies 2:30 p.m.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1
“A+ for America: In Our Students”
SUNDAY, JANUARY 30
“Catholic Schools A+ for America: In Our Parish”
•Please join us in our celebration of Catholic Schools Week in
our parish by attending our 10:30 a.m. All-School Mass.
Kindergarten-fifth grade students will participate in the liturgy.
•The Soup and Salad Luncheon with a Chili Cook-off will be
held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Meal Tickets are $6 adults, $4 students, 5 years and under
eat free; the cost will be $2 per person to sample and vote
for the chili cook-off. Tickets are available at the door. Please
e-mail Elizabeth Abbott at cryingmoonbear@gmail.com if you
would like to enter your chili.
•The verbal auction will begin at 12:00 noon. We will be
auctioning many great baskets, items and services from the
classes and school. If you’d like to donate your own theme
basket or items for our silent auction, please drop donations
off by Friday afternoon, January 28th.
MONDAY, JANUARY 31
“A+ for America: In Our Community”
•Cuddle Up & Read Day – Wear pajamas, bring slippers, a
pillow, and your favorite stuffed animal
•Morning Gathering – We will do a morning gathering in the gym
each day at 8:30. We will say prayers, do a flag salute, and
sing a song or two.
•Sports Day – Come dressed as your favorite career person
•Family Picnic during Lunchtime – Families are invited to come
in and eat a picnic lunch with us.
•Student Talent Show at 12:30 p.m., following lunch, in the gym.
These kindergarteners enjoyed discovering and experimenting with light and colors.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
“A+ for America: In Our Nation”
•U.S.A. Day – Wear your red, white, and blue to support America
•Patriotic Living Rosary at 8:35 a.m. – bring your rosary if
you have one (K-5)
•Saints’ Museum – Students in grades 3-5 will put on a Saints’
Museum. Parents and the community are welcome to view
the museum between 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the school gym.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3
“A+ for America: In Our Vocations”
•Kooky Clothes Day – Dress like your friends
•“The Spoon Man” Performance at 1:00 p.m. in the gym.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4
“A+ for America: In Our Faculty, Staff & Volunteers
•All School Mass at 9:00 a.m. – Thank you presentation for
Father John
•Fun in the Sun Day – Change into summer clothes after Mass
for our Luau from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
