Mentoring available: The
Clay-Union Foundation is
seeking new members in
their mentoring program,
and invites both adults and
youth aged 5-17 to join
their organization. An adult
male volunteer in
ANN BREITAG
Vermillion would like to
mentor a youth age 10-14
years old, and spend time
with him. A 16-year-old girl
is also seeking an adult
female mentor. The process
is easy, and there is no cost
to join the program. Group
activities are covered by the
foundation, Mentors are
also needed in Elk Point and
Jefferson.
Mentoring pays huge
benefits for both the youth
and adults. Applications for
both youth and adults are at
http://www.clayunionfoundation.org/. The
volunteers are all
background checked and
interviewed before the
match, and are asked to
spend two hours per week
with their match, which can
have a positive impact on a
youth’s life. Call John Gille
at (605) 421-5050 for
further information. The
foundation is funded in
part by the United Way of
