Coyoteopoly nets
grant for
Shakespeare Fest
The National
Endowment for the Arts
and the South Dakota
Tourism Board has
awarded the University of
South Dakota’s
Coyoteopoly a $3,500
grant in support of the
South Dakota
Shakespeare Festival.
Launched in 2012 by
members of the USD
Department of Theatre
faculty Chaya GordonBland and Scott Mollman
and Beacom School of
Business professor
Gregory Huckabee, the
South Dakota
Shakespeare Festival is
held in June at
Vermillion’s Prentis Park.
The South Dakota
Shakespeare Festival was
developed to increase the
cultural, artistic and
educational offerings to
the people of the
Vermillion community
and surrounding area. In
addition to high quality,
professional Shakespeare
performances, the Festival
includes educational
artistic events in a free
and accessible format.

SD Rock and Roll Music
Association looks for
hall of famers
The SD Rock and Roll Music Association (SDRRMA) is looking for individuals
who impacted the South Dakota music scene over the past 50 years. The
organization is accepting nominees for induction into the 2014 Hall of Fame as well
as a lifetime achievement award. Nominees can include bands, musicians,
ballrooms, DJs or radio stations.
“The induction in to the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is fun way to
honor contributions to the music scene in South Dakota,” says Don Fritz, chairman.
“Our state is full of talent and this is just one way for us to show our appreciation.”
The deadline for nominations is Aug. 23. Nominations for consideration should
include detailed bios and contact information. Samples of music, photos,
newspaper articles, posters and other information are welcome and encouraged.
The induction ceremony is mid-April 2014 at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall in Sioux
Falls.
