The proposed improvements to Prentis Park are sorely needed and once completed they will result in an even better facility for our use in so many ways. In the election of November 2014, the planned improvements to Prentis Park received a 75% approval by Vermillion voters. A NO vote on the initiated measure will continue the development of the park as approved by the voters. The level of child care provided to Vermillion’s children is critical to our quality of life. A YES vote on the proposed day care ordinance will provide an even higher quality of care for our children. Last year Vermillion was named South Dakota’s Large Community of the Year by Governor Dennis Daugaard. This election is another opportunity to keep improving Vermillion’s quality of life and build on our record of making this a great place to live and raise a family. Please vote NO on the initiated measure and maintain the malt beverage fee ordinance. Please vote YES on the proposed day care ordinance. Thank you. Bob Fuller Vermillion Morning Ladies Golf & Dominos Group SUBMITTED BY PAT STECKELBERG What a great day, June 24th, for golfing and gathering! Nineteen ladies came for luncheon and we all had such a good time visiting before lunch. The meal, baked potato our way, is one of my favorites. Thank you to Judy Sullivan and Agnes Mockler for the desserts. Chocolate and nuts are always great choices. Both treats were yummy. We had one guest: Char Brunick brought a friend-Roxie Miller. Thanks for coming and hope you join our group. The drawing winners: $5 – Darlene Engbrecht and Joan Olson. Quarters – Joan Olson, Beth Silvano, Rhoda Grand (twice), Roxie Miller (twice), Darlene Engbrecht, and Agnes Mockler. Golf Report: We had a perfect day for golfing. Not hot, not cold, not too windy, and 9 golfers. What more could you ask for. Well, more golfers? We played “Low Score On Par 4’s”. Since we had 3 groups of 3, there were 3 winners. Lynn Hatle – 29, Mona Bye – 29, and well – Mary Lea Hennies – 29. Everyone had great scores but these were our winners. Dominoes: There were 4 tables again. I love that there are so many ladies playing and I know they are all having a barrel of fun. Rd 1-Roxie Miller, Judy Sullivan, Dori Ryan, and Thelma Raines. Rd 2-Roxie Miller, Judy Sullivan, Barb Boone, and Agnes Mockler. Rd 3-Rhoda Grant, Babe Hurowitz, Pat Durkin, and Beth Silvano. Total score-Ann Stewart, Darlene Engbrecht, Barb Boone, and Agnes Mockler. I cannot say it enough-Come Join Us Ladies!! There is still a lot of summer fun at the Bluffs to come. Be our guest and you just might want to join us. See you at the Bluffs!
