THIS WEEKS HAPPENINGS
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
•USD & National Music Museum
(NMM) selected as one of fifty-two
sites in the U.S. to host the 2016
traveling exhibit marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. The
First Folio is the first collected edition
of Shakespeare’s plays published in
1623. Plays such as Macbeth, The
Tempest, Julius Caesar and others
would have been lost without this
publication. The rare book will be on
exhibit at NMM. Final touring dates to
be announced in April 2015.
•Foundation seeks more youth:
The Clay-Union Foundation has 3 new
volunteers, 2 males and a female. A
male and female just applied to be
mentors in Vermillion. And an adult
male is seeking a match with a 12-14
year old boy in Northern Clay or Union
County, preferably Centerville or west
of Beresford. Youth are being sought
throughout both counties; the program
has made 140 long term matches to
date. Apply online at www.clay-unionfoundation.org to sign up as a youth,
or as a mentor. Spend 2 hours/week
and make a difference in a child’s life.
Please contact John Gille at 605-4215050 or email jgillerrsd60@yahoo.com
for more information on supporting or
getting involved in the program.
•The Clay-Union Foundation is seeking at least 2 boys age 5-11 who are
interested in being in the mentoring
program. Two males are ready to mentor. Volunteers spend 2 hours/week
with their matches, and the relationships have positive long term impacts.
Go to www.clay-unionfoundation.org to
sign up a youth, be a mentor or be a
sponsor. Call John Gille at 605-4215050 for more information.
