Officers were unable to locate the male subjects. WEDNESDAY, DEC. 31 12:56 a.m. — An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon contact with the male driver, he was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI, open container in a motor vehicle, and having possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated. 2:25 a.m. — A caller reported her ex-boyfriend had attempted to enter her current boyfriend's residence. Officers responded and were unable to locate the male subject in the area. Investigation continues. 12:39 p.m. — A caller reported an issue of harassment where a male and female subject were following him as he was driving and shouting at him. Officers spoke with the complainant and the other parties identified in the incident. The incident is still under investigation. THURSDAY, JAN. 1 1:56 a.m. — An officer took a report of an assault that occurred between several male individuals. The officer was able to talk with three of the involved males but was unable to make contact with the remaining three males. Investigation continues. 2:06 a.m. — Officers received a report of an assault that had occurred earlier in the morning. Officers met with the male complainant and attempted to identify and make contact with the other involved male subject. The following day, the other male subject was contacted and admitted to the incident. He was arrested and charged with simple assault. 2:34 a.m. — An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not maintaining proper lane position in the roadway. The male driver was found to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI. 3:22 p.m. — Officers were advised of a domestic disturbance that had occurred earlier and that the male involved in the dispute had left the house intoxicated. Officers were able to locate the male in his vehicle and investigated the report of the domestic dispute. Additionally, the male was investigated for DWI and found to be in violation. He was arrested for DWI. 6:56 p.m. — An officer received a report of a theft of gas from a gas station. The incident is still under investigation. FRIDAY, JAN. 2 1:31 p.m. – Officers were called to the 1200 block of Princeton Ave for report of a male subject acting suspicious and randomly looking inside vehicles in the parking lot. Officers arrived and located the reported subject after speaking with the caller. It was learned the subject was attempting to sell their pet after finding they were unable to care for the animal. The subject agreed to cease their actions due to causing alarm and left the area. 4:31 p.m. — An Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 800 block of E Cherry St. The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for their speed as well as failure to have proof of insurance in the vehicle. 10:37 p.m. — Officers received report of a noise complaint for loud music on Allison St. Immediately following the complaint, the caller advised the music had been turned down and the noise origin was unfounded. SATURDAY, JAN. 3 8:00 p.m. — Officers responded to the 800 block of E Duke St for report of some debris on fire near a residence there. On arrival, Officers learned the residents had accidentally caught fire to some bedding and threw the items outside to prevent further damage inside the home. Fire Department personnel arrived to assist with the fire safety concerns. A male passenger was also cited for underage consumption. 5:43 a.m. — Officers received a report of an intrusion alarm at a local business. The business was found to be secured and empty. 9:28 a.m. — Officers received a report of an assault that occurred previously at a residence during a custody exchange. Officers investigated the incident and determined the incident did not constitute an assault. No charges were filed. 11:19 a.m. — A caller reported an incident of stolen and forged checks being used at a business in Vermillion. The incident is under investigation. 8:21 p.m. — Officers responded to a noise complaint of loud music. The officers were able to locate the source of the noise and spoke with the tenants regarding the issue and complaint. The tenants were contacted and warned about the infraction. The music was turned off and no charges were filed. 11:40 p.m. — A caller reported a theft of money from his residence. Officers are investigating the incident. TUESDAY, DEC. 30 2:03 a.m. — Officers responded to a call of male individuals attempting to enter a residence. Officers arrived and did not locate anyone outside the residence.
