Broadcaster Press 3 January 24, 2017 www.broadcasteronline.com Third Annual 'Dolly Disco' to Raise Funds for Imagination Library Fans of country legend Dolly Parton, advocates of childhood literacy, and folks just looking for a good time will gather at the Vermillion National Guard Armory on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the third annual Dolly Disco to benefit United Way's Imagination Library program. The event will include rollerskating, Parton's music, snacks and more. Admission is $5 per person or $15 per family and costumes are encouraged! "Imagination Library is a program that provides a free book every month to children between birth and age five in the Vermillion area," explained United Way Executive Director Kelsey Collier-Wise. "Since Dolly Parton created the program, throwing a party in her honor has proven a great way to raise money for the program." Studies have shown that participation in the program improves early childhood literacy. "Putting books in kids' hands, at no cost, is such an extraordinary gift.
