The Board of Economic Development approved a $520,000 loan to the company earlier this month to help with fixed asset financing, which included the acquisition of a 20,000-square-foot facility in Beresford’s industrial park. Century Custom Molding is a wholly owned subsidiary of Com Century Industries Co, Ltd, which was founded by Chinese businessman Bill Zhang. “This is a unique opportunity for both Beresford and Century Custom Molding, alike,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “Bill made the right decision to expand in Beresford, and it’s my pleasure to welcome his company as one of South Dakota’s newest corporate citizens.” Bramec Corporation, headquartered in North Sioux City, has been a customer of Com-Century for more than 10 years. Kyle Hinseth, president of Bramec, and Zhang agree that locating Zhang’s new manufacturing facility in Beresford will help both companies realize logistics savings due in part to a central-U.S. location. In addition, Zhang says he’ll be able to purchase new equipment that will process different materials, which will improve current products already in the marketplace. “This new facility will allow me to compete in more markets stateside and abroad,” Zhang said. “Bersford and South Dakota have already demonstrated to me they are pro-business. I am looking forward to a long lasting relationship.” “This is an example of excellent timing,” said Jim Fedderson, mayor of Beresford. “Things came together quickly and seamlessly and we couldn’t be more excited to have Bill here. Beresford has had a lot to celebrate in the last few years, and I’m thrilled to announce that this is just the latest.” Zhang says renovations are already underway, and that the facility will be fully-operational by July 2018. 2017 Eminent Farmers/Ranchers & Homemakers BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State University Colleges of Agriculture and Biological Sciences and Education and Human Sciences will recognize four individuals with the Eminent Famer/Rancher and Eminent Homemaker Honor during a banquet September 15, 2017 at the McCrory Gardens Education and Visitor Center, Brookings. Banquet reservations are $25 and are available from the Office of the Dean of Agriculture and Biological Sciences, Berg Agricultural Hall 131, SDSU Brookings, S.D., 57007 or by calling 605-688-4148 by September 1. The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. with social hour, followed by the banquet at 6:30 p.m. The 2017 Eminent Farmers/Ranchers honored are John Moes of Florence and Tom Varilek of Geddes. The 2017 Eminent Homemakers honored are June L. James of Hazel and Gwenn Vallery of Nisland. Established in 1927, the Eminent Farmer/Rancher and Eminent Homemaker awards recognize individuals for their contributions of leadership and service to the community on the local, state and national level. Each year SDSU selects four individuals to honor based on confidential nominations from across the state. The nominations are reviewed by a committee of SDSU faculty members, administrators and SDSU Extension personnel and are approved by the Deans of the Colleges of Agriculture and Biological Sciences and Education and Human Sciences. The honorees photos join the more than 300 portraits of Eminent Farmers/Ranchers and Homemakers which are displayed in the "Hall of Fame" portrait gallery located in Berg Agricultural Hall on the campus of South Dakota State University. Why Advertise When Business Is Slow... • No matter how thin the market of potential prospects is... you need your share. • When buyers spend less money... they are even more particular where they spend it. • Most small businesses are expected to cut back, but not all of them will. • Somebody WILL BUY SOMETHING... shouldn’t it be from you? • Advertising is one of the few things a business owner can control. • Companies that grow - advertise consistently. • Advertising augments your sales efforts. • One out of every five families move each year. • Studies show that when the market gets stronger, companies which advertise throughout the recession will immediately gain a larger share of the business. 201 W Cherry St Vermillion 624-4429 www.broadcasteronline.com bp Since 1934 Broadcaster Press bWe’ve Spotted p Broadcaster Since 1934 Press A better way to buy, sell or rent!
