Sam Ward is a junior and the lone captain for the Vermillion
boys’ basketball team. He has started for the Tanagers the past
two years, and this season, he averages 10.1 points, four
rebounds, and three assists per game.
“I love competing against other people and finding a
way to win with my teammates,” said Ward.
He also plays soccer, baseball, and more basketball in the summer.
Ward remains active when he does not have games or practices.
“I like drinking tea and playing chess with my friends,” said Ward
who is also in show choir, student council, National Honors Society,
and he is a peer helper at Austin Elementary.
