Park Service. This will be
held at Mulberry Bend from
1-4 p.m. Clean-up will take
place at both the Mulberry
Bend Overlook and Boat
Ramp, but volunteers meet
first at the overlook parking
lot. Directions: Take
Highway 19 south from
Vermillion (it becomes
Nebraska Highway 15 as
soon as you cross the
bridge). The overlook is on
the east side of the highway
in Nebraska just above the
Missouri River. Also, if any
civic or school groups are
interested in scheduling a
presentation about the
importance of river cleanups,
especially post flood, NPS

First Fitness to hold third
annual Fitness For a Cause
event at 2509 Fox Run
Parkway, Yankton. The event
raises proceeds for a local
charity. First Fitness has
selected Heartland Humane
Society as this year’s
recipient. All proceeds will
go towards vet care and spay
and neuter costs for the more
than 200 animals the shelter
expects to help in 2012.
Participants can register for
the event at First Fitness and
select a number of workout
classes to participate in
between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Membership is not required.
Those who raise or donate
$25 or more will receive an
event t-shirt. Registrations
with over $100 raised will be
entered into a grand prize
drawing. Register by April 14
and receive a ticket to enter
into your choice of drawings.
