Deadline for registration is Thursday, April 26. The class will train participants to grade worldclass chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket. All judging-school participants will be trained by a KCBS representative. Following completion of the class, participants will have earned their judging certification. As certified BBQ judges, individuals need only renew their KCBS memberships to remain in good standing. Cost for the class is $45 for KCBS members and $75 for nonmembers. The non-member fee includes a oneyear KCBS membership. Anyone interested in joining the KCBS can visit www.kcbs.us. KCBS instructor for the class will be Sonny Ashford. There are over 300 contests nationwide, many of them in the Midwest. In South Dakota alone, judging opportunities are available at sanctioned contests in Huron, Vermillion and Watertown.
