Society Animal Fair:
Heartland Humane
Society will hold their
Animal Fair at Riverside
Park in Yankton. This is
an annual fundraiser that
includes activities for
every member of the
family – even the fourlegged ones. The walk/run
registration begins at 9:30
a.m. and the walk starts at
10 a.m. Pet contests,
including owner/pet lookalike, most unusual pet,
best-dressed pet and best
pet trick, will be held at
the amphitheatre at 11:45
a.m. The animal fair will
also showcase
demonstrations by the
local K-9 police unit, 4H
group and a basic
obedience overview. There
will be food and more than
20 vendors on-site from
10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. A variety
of animals will also be in
attendance including
miniature horses and a
