(ROCS) has hired a Navigator staff person to assist consumers with understanding and applying for health insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Funding for this position is part of the Navigator Grant Award received by the South Dakota Community Action Partnership. Lizzy Bolander of Herrick has been hired to serve in this position. She has completed the certification courses required to act as a Navigator and in the next few weeks will be organizing and hosting outreach events and enrollment events in the communities and counties served by ROCS. Bolanders’ duties will include presenting informational sessions to help consumers understand the Affordable Care Act and answer questions about how the ACA legislation will affect them and their families. She will also be partnering with organizations within communities to hold enrollment events so that consumers can ask questions and receive assistance with the enrollment process on the Health Insurance Marketplace. “We are excited to have Lizzy on board. The Health Insurance Marketplace and the Affordable Care Act can be very confusing and daunting for consumers. Our role is to make it less confusing and to help people get their questions answered,” said ROCS Community Services Director Darci Bultje. “This is an exciting opportunity for all four of the Community Action Agencies in South Dakota.” Bolanders service area will include the following counties: Aurora, Brule, Bon Homme, Buffalo, Clay, Charles Mix, Douglas, Davison, Gregory, Hanson, BroadcasterOnline.com Hutchinson, Jones, Jerauld, Lyman, Mellette, Sanborn, Todd, Tripp, Union and Yankton.
