The first place team members were Dave Zimmer, Ken Beringer and Tony Glass. They shot a 33 with three birdies: a 16 ft. by Glass on No. 2, a 10 foot birdie by Zimmer on No. 5, and a 15 foot birdie by Beringer on No. 8. The team of Gary Prasek, Shorty Hanson, Louie Fostvedt and Cleland Cook shot a 34 and placed second using a tie-breaker. Local Students Awarded For Their Commitment To Saving Lives SIOUX CITY, IA (October 15, 2015) – This summer, high school and college students from across Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota competed to win a scholarship from LifeServe Blood Center by hosting a Save our Summer Blood Drive. The Save our Summer Scholarship Program was developed to reward students for their commitment to saving lives and supporting their community through blood donation and blood drive sponsorship. Students had the opportunity to earn a $750 scholarship by hosting one blood drive during the summer months that brought TODD’S in at least 50 units of blood. Congratulations to our scholarship winners listed below! •Mackenzie Huber, University of South Dakota, and Josie Huber, Dakota Wesleyan University, 65 units collected, up to 195 lives saved. High school and college students are vital to the future of the volunteer blood donor program.
