CLAY COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT The Clay County Highway Department currently has two full time positions open. One position is for a Highway Crew Maintenance Worker I. The other position is half time Assistant Weed Supervisor and half time Highway Maintenance Worker. ASSISTANT WEED SUPERVISOR Must have or obtain a commercial applicators license with endorsements 4, 6, 7, and 9. Must be able to operate light duty trucks, UTV’s and boats all with sprayer attachments. Will be required to be able to identify noxious weeds and learn the proper treatment methods. Will be required to mix and spray various herbicides and larvicides. See the following for the other half of position. PRODUCTION POSTIONS WEEKEND DAYS & WEEK NIGHTS HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKER I Must be experienced truck driver with at least a Class B C.D.L. Must be able to operate but not limited to: loaders, trailers, backhoes, skid loaders, mowers, etc Must be willing and able to do heavy manual labor working as part of a road and bridge crew in all types of weather. Drug testing is in place. The county pays health insurance for employee, paid holidays, vacations, and sick leave. Work week is four ten hour days April to November with overtime after 40 hours worked per week. Winter hours are five eight hour days. On-call duties may be required on weekends.
