The entertainment never stops....
An enjoyable part of the entertainment every year is the
students from Judi’s Fitness and Dance Studio and Academy
of Dance. Both studios have displayed such talent over the
years that it wouldn’t be Riverboat Days without them.
The dancers will be taking the stage at various times
throughout the weekend. Check the schedule for more information.
Friday night from 6-8 p.m. many arts vendors will be
open. Friday night you can also take advantage of the delicious food for sale and the beverage tent will be open.
Weather permitting you can get a bird’s eye view of the
park by taking a ride in the Hot Air Balloon.
You will want to make sure and come back to the park on
Saturday, Aug. 20, after the parade. The Summer Arts
Festival will get under way at 9 a.m., as do the food vendors
for anyone that is hungry early.
All weekend the kids can have fun at the Children’s
Activity Tent. You can’t miss this free activity located under
the big blue tent by the amphitheatre — check the schedule
for times.

breathe new life into your favorite songs of the past and
been amazed by the talents of the Log Hoggers.
The Log Hoggers are able to masterfully transform logs
into beautiful wood carvings with their chainsaw.
There will be demonstrations during the weekend, located just north of the food vendors. On Sunday you won’t
want to miss the auction where you can purchase one of the
wonderful pieces created during Riverboat Days.

The Log Hoggers
In 2003 Sheltered Reality came into existence with the
mission to “employ the power of music to engage and motivate audiences to make positive change both in themselves
and the world they live in.”
It is the general belief that music is a universal language,
and Sheltered Reality uses music as a way to open the
hearts of their audiences — this allows group members to
share their personal stories of hardship and triumph.
“These are not words about strangers, but of members of
one human family, people that have displayed courage, commitment, and genuine concern for the welfare of others,
even under trial. This process is meant to inspire all to not
only become better individuals, but to take action to help
others succeed in life as well. We all do have the power to
make changes and to make a difference in the lives of our
neighbors, and thus in the world around us.” (According to
their website, www.sheltered-reality.org)
Sheltered Reality’s primary focus is the advocacy for
youth in crisis. To achieve this they teach personal empowerment and character building, and then encourage the
application of these abilities.
In 2003, SR had 75 members, all based in the state of
Iowa. In 2009, there are more than 300 members with groups
all over the country.
Sheltered Reality will be performing Saturday at 1 p.m.
and 5 p.m. at the Amphitheatre.
For the past few years, visitors to Riverboat Days have
