Innovation Grant Funding Recipients Announced
PIERRE, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS) today
announced their selection of 25 nursing
facilities that will receive innovation grant
funding.
The innovation grants were designed
to fund projects in areas crucial to the
needs of South Dakota’s long-term care
participants.
“Expectations are changing, and the
long-term services arena needs to change
in order to keep pace, with a focus on
excellent quality care, service, and most
importantly, individual choice,” said
DHS Secretary Shawnie Rechtenbaugh.
“These grants will help us kickstart a new
strategy on the ways we approach senior
care.”
A total of 56 grant proposals were submitted. Providers were asked to submit
ideas that would address needs in one
or more areas, including expanding the
menu of service settings, improving patient quality of life within a nursing home
and innovations that would positively
impact staff recruitment and retention.
The funding for this program was approved by the South Dakota Legislature
in March.

nursing facilities that will receive innovation grant funding: Walworth County Care
