As the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team clinched
its fourth Summit League regular season title in six years with last
Saturday’s 77-67 victory at rival South Dakota State, we took a look

program was buried in the basement of the old North Central
Conference of NCAA Division II. It would take the firing of the team’s
two coaches, who were replaced by three local coaching legends, to
breathe life back into the program that season.

Highway 52
Grading Project
From Tabor To
Springfield
Delayed
SPRINGFIELD, S.D. –
South Dakota Department
of Transportation officials
say the reconstruction of
Highway 52 from Tabor to
Springfield will be delayed
from a 2020 construction
year to 2021.
The delay is due to
the Highway 37 shoulder
widening project north of
Springfield that was unable
to be finished in 2019 due
to wet weather and will be
completed in 2020. Highway 37 will be the main
detour route during the
Highway 52 construction
project.
Some minor work on
the Highway 52 project
may be done in late 2020,
but should have minimal
impact to motorists.
