The day included musical performances by singer-songwriter Chuck Suchy, a Scandinavian Smorgasbord that included potatis korv, meatballs, salads, new potatoes and other Scandinavian treats, children’s activities, vendors and demonstrations. The evening program featured USD’s Dakota Ragtime Trio featuring USD professor Dr. Darin Wadley on xylophone with other musicians on sax and tuba, and headliner Suchy. Three stories related to recent launch by the University of South Dakota of a new college dedicated to innovation and workforce development in Sioux Falls, replacing USD efforts in what was formerly known as University Center-Sioux Falls (UCSF). The new institution is known as USD Community College for Sioux Falls. The new college is led by Carmen Simone, Ph.D., who was the executive director of UCSF.
