12 Broadcaster Press July 29, 2014 www.broadcasteronline.com Clay County day camp scheduled From electricity and Internet access, to banking and farm inputs, rural residents throughout South Dakota depend upon cooperative businesses for access to many essential products and services. To celebrate cooperatives’ role in their communities, Farmers Union organizations across the state will host day camps for rural youth. This year’s theme: “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Cooperation,” celebrates the superheroes that are our local cooperatives. All youth ages 6 to 13 are invited to attend Clay County Farmers Union day camp scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Prentis Park South Shelter, Vermillion. The rain site will be at Jolley Elementary School 224 S. University St, Vermillion. Through interactive activities and crafts, campers will learn about cooperation and other topics including agriculture and leadership. Registration fee will be $5 for non-Farmers Union members and members free. This year, camps will also focus on activities that celebrate the United Nations’ Year of Family Farming. Camp schedule includes registration at 9:30 am with camp running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration forms and more information can be found online at www.sdfu.org. You can also pick them up at your local Farmers Union Insurance office, or your local cooperative. For more information contact Farmers Union State Education Director Bonnie Geyer at (605) 352-6761 ext. 125 or e-mail her at bgeyer@sdfu.org. •HUGE AUCTION• TRACTORS - COLLECTOR TRACTORS - COMBINES - HEADS - SKID LOADERS - PAY LOADERS - GRAIN CARTS - FORAGE-HAY-FEEDING EQUIPMENT - FARM MISC - ASST.
